Modern dietary and nutrition research has confirmed that the healthiest diet for humans is a vegan diet. More specifically, a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) diet, meaning unprocessed or low processed plant based foods, including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and which is also low in oil, salt and sugar.

This 16 minute video from Plant Based News asks doctors about the healthiest human diet.

Animal products are not required for human health. Cholesterol, saturated fat and animal protein, found in all meat, poultry, seafood, eggs and dairy products contribute to many of the world's leading causes of death and disability. The World Health Organisation classifies processed meat as a known carcinogen, and red meat as a probable carcinogen. Eating animal products increases the risk of chronic diseases and conditions including cancers, tumours, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, and dementia including Alzheimer's disease.

A WFPB diet has been demonstrated to significantly reduce the risk of developing these chronic diseases, as well as stopping and even reversing many of them. It can also assist in preventing and treating acne, constipation, erectile dysfunction, asthma, kidney stones, gout, and can help people trying to lose weight. Also, it is the diet that supports the longest human life expectancy.

This 5 minute video from NutritionFacts.org discusses diet and life expectancy.

A WFPB diet is abundant in all the vitamins and nutrients humans require, including protein, iron, calcium and all the essential amino acids. National government dietary authorities in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and other countries, officially state that a healthy vegan diet is suitable for people across all stages of life including pregnancy, lactation, infancy and childhood, and for elite athletes.

And while most people eat like omnivores, anatomically, humans are herbivores. Our limbs, jaws, teeth, stomach and intestines are all best suited for gathering, eating and digesting whole plant based foods. And the science shows that we are much healthier when we eat in line with our anatomy.

This 10 minute video from Meat Your Future discusses human anatomy.
